How to Access Your Intuition: A Meditation

  • Are you wondering why you are experiencing physical or emotional pain?
  • Are you juggling so many responsibilities it’s hard to know where to begin?
  • Are you facing an important decision and looking for clarity?

Then this meditation is for you.

Throughout the day we are bombarded with so much information and pulled in so many different directions, it can lead to anxiety and confusion. This meditation is an invitation to mentally slow down and listen to your intuition, your inner voice that is kind, gentle, clear, and a source of great wisdom.

You say you don’t have time? Then it’s more important than ever to make the time. Why? Because there’s a good chance you’re spinning your wheels and getting nowhere, which is a huge energy drain.

More and more people are realizing the importance of life balance.

Spending a few minutes each day cultivating our intuition is a great way to find that balance. By using our intuition, we can gain important insights, set our priorities straight, and make decisions from a place of clarity and confidence rather than confusion and overwhelm.

The good news is, there are simple ways to shift the energy and connect with our intuition so we can move through our days feeling grounded, focused, confident, and at ease.

The following meditation is just one of many voice guided meditations that I use during Healing Touch sessions and one-on-one trainings.

Meditation preparation

To prepare for this meditation, find a place that is quiet and comfortable. Bring to mind a question or a situation that is bothering you. When you’re ready, press “play.”

How to Access Your Intuition: A Meditation

Read meditation transcript

Hi. My name is Katie Oberlin. I’m offering this meditation to you as an invitation to mentally slow down and listen to your intuition, your inner voice. So let’s begin by taking three deep slow breaths…in…and out…in…and out…in…and out.

Continuing with the rhythm of the breath, bring your attention to your heart and notice yourself becoming more and more present…to this moment…right here…right now.

As you continue to breathe slowly and deeply, notice the stillness in your heart and imagine that with each breath in you find yourself going deeper and deeper into that quiet place…feeling safe…and supported.

With each breath out feel your muscles becoming soft and warm…breath by breath…with each exhale…feeling more and more relaxed.

(Pause)

From time to time during this centering breathing, you may notice thoughts coming up. If that happens, acknowledge the thought…and then on the next exhale…imagine the thought drifting away, into the background so that you can bring your attention back to the present moment, your heart center.

(Pause)

Continuing to breathe slowly and deeply, bring to mind your question or concern. As you think about it, notice if you are analyzing…or ruminating…or worrying…

Take a deep breath in…and then on the next exhale, gently release all of that material by dropping down out of your head and turning your attention back to your heart.

Drop down…out of your head….and into your heart.

When you feel ready, silently state your question or concern. Ask your heart to help you answer your question and bring insight to your concern.

The key here is to stay in your heart. Breathe deeply and evenly, and listen to what your heart tells you with no filters or thoughts. Your heart may speak to you in a variety of forms…perhaps a message…in the form of words…or images…or maybe just an inner knowing that is revealed to you. Be open and willing to receive whatever message or insight emerges.

(Pause)

If you find yourself back in your head, simply take a deep breath and drop back down into your heart once again.

(Pause)

At some point you will feel as if the meditation is complete. Recap in your mind whatever came up for you during the meditation. Don’t question or analyze anything. Just let it be. Simply trust your intuition. Trust the wisdom of your heart.

As we bring this meditation to a close, you may find that you haven’t received a message. That’s OK. Part of trusting our intuition is to realize and accept that if nothing comes up we need to be patient and trust right timing. Sometimes the answers and insights come to us in unexpected ways.

So now, bring your attention back to the breath. As you inhale, feel a sense of love and gratitude flow into your heart. Feeling full of love and gratitude, as you exhale, send that love and gratitude out into the Universe quietly saying the words ,“Thank you.”
