We all know what it’s like to be faced with difficult decisions. Most of us attempt to make these decisions by turning to the objective mind, reading what the experts have to say, seeking the opinions of family or friends, weighing the pros and cons. This is helpful to a point, but after a while, after mulling things over and over again, we can become stuck and confused.
It’s super-stressful and I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there.
But what if we turned to our intuition to access mental clarity?
Lian was overwhelmed when she came to see me for a Healing Touch session. She had been on vacation with her husband when she received news that her father-in-law had died. They cut their trip short to attend the funeral. Her own father’s health was quickly declining as well. As she was making plans to travel to Connecticut be with him, she learned that her cousin in Texas had unexpectedly died. She was in a quandary about going to her cousin’s memorial service because she was so worried about her father.
“What do you think I should do?”
My inclination was to hold back on giving Lian advice and allow her to tune in to her own intuition, or what I like to call “inner knowing.” I sensed that she would find a way to be there for both the memorial service AND her father.
In addition to the formidable stress she was experiencing, Lian was feeling a significant amount of pain in her neck and shoulders. Indeed, the correlation between stress and physical pain is real.
We set the intention to use our Healing Touch session to help her find clarity in making this important decision.
Here’s what happened during our Healing Touch session.
After assessing Lian’s energy system to see where things might be blocked or out of balance, I began with a Spiral Meditation. This technique helped to connect and open her chakras and expand her energy field to facilitate the release of tension, confusion, and pain.
I then used a technique called Mind Clearing to promote relaxation and mental balance.
Next, we did some clearing with Magnetic Passes: Hands in Motion to clear an energetic pain ridge that was emanating about 18 inches from Lian’s neck and shoulder.
The final step was to close the spiral.
As I finished our session with my hands hovering over her heart chakra, I invited Lian to take a few deep slow breaths. I encouraged her to tune in to her inner knowing to determine what would be best for her to do. After a few minutes, she slowly opened her eyes and smiled. She reported that the pain was gone and she felt confident that whatever she decided would be the right thing.
“I know I am intuitive but I always second-guess myself when making big decisions.
Thank you for helping me trust in myself.”
The following day, I received an email from Lian.
“Thanks so much for the Healing Touch session yesterday. My neck and shoulders are much better. I also found some clarity on my situation. It’s a little crazy, but I am going to Texas late Friday night for my cousin’s memorial service on Saturday and then heading to Connecticut on Sunday to see my dad and sister. I’ll be back in Chicago on Wednesday. I feel really good about my decision. Thank you again for helping me figure this out in a strong and positive way.”
This is a powerful testimony to the validity of opening up and receiving the wisdom of our inner knowing. It resides in all of us to guide our decisions and lives.
A Healing Touch session is a good way to facilitate the process. But you can also develop the ability to tune in to your inner knowing on your own.
How to access your intuition? Stop. Breathe. Ask. Listen. Trust.
Learn how to tune into your intuition with my one-on-one trainings and group workshops. Here’s an example of one of my simple voice-guided meditations:
Gently release any ruminating by dropping down out of your head and turning your attention to your heart. Ask your heart to help you answer whatever question you might have. Breathe deeply and evenly, and listen to what your heart tells you. Then, most importantly, trust your intuition. Trust the wisdom of your heart.
