In case you haven’t noticed, I have been in hibernation these past two months. But, even though you haven’t seen me in your inbox each week, this has not been a time of inactivity.
Like Bear, I went digging around to find a place to rest and rejuvenate, giving me the time and space to evaluate various aspects of my life. This time of introspection brought forth insights and the impetus to make some changes. It’s my hope that by sharing my experiences, it will provide encouragement and food for thought as you navigate your own ups and downs.
Here are some highlights:
- I had no idea how tired I was. My solution? 10-12 hours of sleep most nights!
- I came to realize that there was an internal force motivating me to push hard to “prove myself.” I won’t go into the intricate details of why or how that old pattern came to be, and how I sorted through it, but I will tell you it was a huge energy leak. What a relief to let that go! I now step into each day with more vitality and authenticity than ever before.
- If I was really going to honor my 2018 intention to simplify, I needed to make some changes. After living in the same location for 20 years, home clutter-clearing is full speed ahead. Also, I have revised my client schedule, I will be posting blogs monthly rather than weekly, and I will be teaching short workshops rather than weekend marathons. My newsletter and website are being streamlined to hone in on information that puts your interests and needs front and center.
During this time of reevaluation and revision, Hawk showed up as a powerful ally. I have gratefully welcomed his medicine of excellent vision and focus, keeping a wide perspective, decisiveness (have you ever seen Hawk catch his prey?), and the tools to navigate the winds of change, soaring with power and freedom.
I had to smile as I was taking my morning walk today and feeling the urge to reconnect with you through my writing. I noticed that the world is starting to wake up bit by bit. The birds and squirrels are more active. Tiny green sprouts are beginning to emerge. The sun is higher in the sky. Yes, my part of the world is waking up… and so am I!

Happy to have you back. I am also decluttering…feels good!
Hi Lucy,
Good to hear from you! Yes, decluttering has a wonderful way of lightening things up in our physical environment and making space for a new approach to work, relationships, life that is much less burdensome. Hope all is well with you.
Take care,
Katie
Glad you took some time for rest and rejuvenation! Let’s hear it for the power of sleep and decluttering!
YEAH!!!
