I love summer because it allows me to joyfully take my morning practice outside. Standing barefoot on the cool, dewy ground with my face to the sun, I extend my arms and open my palms to receive the brilliant light as I say the following words:
Thank you Spirit for this new day, its beauty and its light.
Thank you for the chance to begin again.
I am free from the limitations of yesterday.
Today I am reborn.
I am more fully a reflection of your radiance.
You give me strength, compassion, courage, and wisdom.
You show me the light in myself and in others and help me recognize the good that is available everywhere.
I am this day an instrument of love and healing.
You lead me into gentle pastures.
You give me deep peace that I might serve you most deeply.
Amen.

Don’t worry about following a certain prayer or practice. What’s most important is to be outside, connect with nature, and start your day with intention.
