March: A Month of Transition

Can you recall a time when you were anticipating a big change in your life? Perhaps you’re in that situation right now. Excitement and impatience might be right there on the surface, but when you explore what’s underneath those feelings, you may encounter trepidation and fear of the unknown.

The month of March can be like that, a time when we anticipate spring but we aren’t quite there yet.

The depths of winter appear dormant, like a bear going into hibernation, but there is actually a lot happening. Like Bear, we can use winter as a time to go inward. It’s a time to rest, restore, and build our chi.

As winter winds down, we sense that change is approaching. We feel both excitement and impatience as energy starts churning, not only in our external environment but also in the inner terrain of our body, mind, and spirit.

I love it when nature serves as a metaphor for our lives!

When it comes to our healing journey, this same impatient, charged energy can push us toward new levels. I recently connected with my client, JoAnn, who had a long history of poor health. You could say that she was going through a “winter” in terms of her everyday living. None of the healthcare providers she had seen over the years could pinpoint the root cause of her problems.

JoAnn found our Healing Touch and shamanic healing sessions helpful in healing from past trauma, reducing her symptoms, and finding clarity in her relationships, but bloating, cramping, chronic fatigue, and depression were her constant companions. Everyday tasks had become a huge hurdle.

Our regular healing appointments gave JoAnn an opportunity to rest, restore, and gain insight. Over time she was building her energy to the point where things started churning. She was becoming impatient and started wondering if the medicine she had been taking for years might actually be causing some of her problems. She was beginning to come alive in a new way until, finally, she was ready to talk to her doctor about weaning her from antidepressants.

A few days after she stopped her medication, I received this message from JoAnn:

“Being off of these pills has changed my life and brought me back from the dead. I feel like I’m not trapped any more, and am really feeling my power come unleashed. I am aware that I have gifts of some kind, and I’m feeling ready now to explore and learn how to harness them.”

“Springtime” is now just around the corner for JoAnn. I can already see her bursting forth with color and vitality! And even though she has some trepidation about where this might take her, she knows that staying energetically balanced and grounded with our Healing Touch and shamanic healing sessions will continue to support her on the way.

Whatever transition you face, even though it might be tinged with both excitement and fear, it can be an opportunity to tune into your own energy and let it pull you into a new expression of yourself.

Enjoy this month of transformation!

(IMPORTANT NOTE: JoAnn was able to go off her antidepressants with the guidance of a medical doctor. Do not ever attempt to stop a prescription without consulting your healthcare professional first.)
