Remote Healing: A Viable Option

Have you ever heard of remote healing? A colleague recently quipped, “Remote healing is like making an ‘energetic house call.’” And guess what? It works! Here is a case in point.

Jodie had been struggling with chronic gastro-intestinal issues when she first came to see me, nearly a year ago. She was also experiencing high levels of stress because of a toxic work environment. Although her symptoms were severe, she was afraid to let her employer know how sick she was, which only exacerbated her GI symptoms.

Eventually, Jodie began working from home, but the stress continued. In our weekly Healing Touch sessions, we focused on alleviating the stress and physical discomfort, as well as diving into some deeper issues around self love.

Over time, even though the symptoms persisted, Jodie was finding some relief, and at an intuitive level she had the sense that our work was helping her.

“I can’t explain it but I feel as if we’re on the right track,” she said. She was feeling better about herself and had found the strength to begin the arduous task of interviewing for another job.

When Jodie learned that I would be out of town, she was disappointed and concerned that she would stop making progress. I suggested that we do a remote healing session, but she was reluctant.

I understood her hesitation. Remote healing is not a familiar concept for many people. Also, Jodie felt a connection with me during our weekly Healing Touch sessions that she feared would be missing if we were talking over the phone. But the fact is that whenever I work with a client, I am working energetically, which means it doesn’t matter if they are physically present or not.

Nonetheless, Jodie wasn’t sure about remote healing, so we scheduled our next appointment for three weeks. I reminded her that she was always diligent about using affirmations and a Healing Touch technique called Magnetic Passes: Hands Still on her solar plexus and heart, and encouraged her to continue with these self-care practices. I knew that this would help her feel empowered to access her own innate healing potential. I also reassured her that she could contact me if she needed anything.

A week later, I received an email from Jodie. She had been offered a new job in an office setting and she was terrified. “What if I became ill again? Will I have the energy required? How will I get the proper wardrobe?” Her concerns loomed large. Jodie was ready to try a remote session.

We agreed to use Skype so that she could see me during our session. She made herself comfortable while I tuned in to her energetic body and began Healing Touch. When I was finished, I saw Jodie sit up and put her hands on her heart.

“Wow,” she said, “That was amazing. This session went really deep and I connected with an important insight. I realize that I’m trying to control too much. I need to let go and trust that everything will work out. Not only that, it’s really nice to be able to receive this work and not have to leave home!”

Jodie experienced what I know to be the beautiful truth about universal energy: it transcends time and space, and it is ever-present and always available to heal body, mind, and spirit.
