Barbara is 96, and after being hospitalized for congestive heart failure, she spent two months recuperating in a nursing home rehab facility. Once her progress in physical therapy plateaued, it was determined that she would continue to make good progress at home.
Barbara was extremely anxious about returning to her own home. Although she was happy to be leaving the nursing home, she was overwhelmed. Would she be able to operate at the same level of functioning and socialization as she had prior to her hospitalization? She knew she would need to have aides come during the day and night, something that seemed especially frightening. She was filled with worry about finances and everything that could go wrong.
A few days before the move, Barbara was scheduled to meet with a woman who would help manage the transition. Barbara was anxious that she wouldn’t be able to “think straight.”
I had worked with Barbara in the past, and went to the nursing home to see how she was doing. When she expressed her concerns, I said, “Why don’t we do some Healing Touch?”
She agreed, and I started by assessing her energy field, slowly sweeping my hands about a foot over her body. The field surrounding her body felt prickly and thick, so I decided to do a Magnetic Clearing to help release the energetic congestion associated with her physical, emotional, and mental state.
I extended all 10 fingers, pointing them straight down toward her body like a comb. Beginning about a foot beyond the top of her head, I slowly combed my fingers through her energy field, all the way down beyond her feet, depositing the congestion into the Earth. My fingers were acting like magnets collecting iron filings, and I continued combing through her energy field for about 20 minutes until everything felt smooth and light.
During the session Barbara fell into a deep sleep, and when she awoke it was time to meet with her care coordinator. She appeared lighter and brighter. She was lucid, alert, and totally on her game, even cracking a few jokes. And she had also come to a place of acceptance about her move, agreeing that having aides come to her home wouldn’t be so bad after all.
It was remarkable to see what a difference the Magnetic Clearing had on Barbara’s entire being, and my time with Barbara reminded me again how grateful I am to witness the simple yet powerful impact Healing Touch can have on people’s lives. Thank you Barbara!
